# Reink vs Smart Case

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Reink at 25 against Smart Case's 2. Smart Case's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 weeks) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 3.0 for Reink against 3.0 for Smart Case. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Reink has 25 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 50% and 50% positive.

Reink ships an update every 2 weeks, Smart Case weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
