# Bluesky Social vs Cogar

The clearest difference is rating: Cogar at 4.5 against Bluesky Social's 3.9. Bluesky Social's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (33% vs 0%). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cogar holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Bluesky Social has 14K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of Bluesky Social's written reviews are positive against 0% of Cogar's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Bluesky Social ships an update every 8 days, Cogar every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
