# Devilinspired vs JapanLA

The clearest difference is ads: JapanLA at none against Devilinspired's shown. JapanLA also leads on monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Devilinspired's advantage is rating (4.5 vs 4.2) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Devilinspired holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Devilinspired has 569 ratings behind it against 15, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 49% of Devilinspired's written reviews are positive against 57% of JapanLA's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Devilinspired ships an update every 2 weeks, JapanLA every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
