# Chi Mind vs OpenNote

The clearest difference is ads: Chi Mind at none against OpenNote's shown. OpenNote's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 20 months) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Chi Mind sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and OpenNote sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Chi Mind ships an update every 20 months, OpenNote every 6 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
