# 12C vs Borderly

The clearest difference is rating: Borderly at 5.0 against 12C's 3.1. Borderly also leads on update cadence (every 5 months vs every 15 months). 12C's advantage is ratings volume (10 vs 1) and device support (3 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. 12C sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Borderly sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $29.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Borderly holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 12C has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

12C ships an update every 15 months, Borderly every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
