# Lessonotes vs Lesson Planner

The clearest difference is ads: Lesson Planner at none against Lessonotes's shown. Lesson Planner also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lessonotes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Lesson Planner sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lessonotes ships an update every 3 weeks, Lesson Planner every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
