# Abalone® vs Watergate

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Watergate at 60% against Abalone®'s 17%. Watergate also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). Abalone®'s advantage is rating (5.0 vs 3.8) and update cadence (daily vs every 2 weeks). On ratings volume, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Abalone® costs $3.99 and Watergate $6.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Abalone® holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 5 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 17% of Abalone®'s written reviews are positive against 60% of Watergate's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Abalone® ships an update daily, Watergate every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
