# Mentava Reading vs Smart Sprout

The clearest difference is update cadence: Smart Sprout at every 2 days against Mentava Reading's fortnightly. Smart Sprout also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Mentava Reading ships an update fortnightly, Smart Sprout every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
