# Dropset vs Mist

The clearest difference is rating: Mist at 4.9 against Dropset's 4.4. Mist also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 4 days) and ratings volume (575 vs 96). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Dropset sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Mist sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Mist holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Mist has 575 ratings behind it against 96, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 78% of Dropset's written reviews are positive against 83% of Mist's.

Dropset ships an update every 4 days, Mist every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
