# Basic vs Start Français

The clearest difference is ads: Basic at none against Start Français's shown. Basic also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs monthly). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Basic sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Start Français sells 6 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Basic ships an update fortnightly, Start Français monthly. Both last shipped on September 15, 2026.
