# Rolling Beast vs Rocket VPN

The clearest difference is rating: Rolling Beast at 5.0 against Rocket VPN's 3.5. Rolling Beast also leads on ads (none vs shown). Rocket VPN's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 3) and ratings volume (124 vs 2). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Rolling Beast sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Rocket VPN asks for nothing beyond the download.

Rolling Beast holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Rocket VPN has 124 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Rolling Beast's written reviews are positive against 17% of Rocket VPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
