# Ultraviolet Chat vs Scouted

The clearest difference is rating: Scouted at 4.8 against Ultraviolet Chat's 4.1. Scouted also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 3 weeks). Ultraviolet Chat's advantage is ratings volume (712 vs 13) and iOS requirement (16.0 vs 18.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ultraviolet Chat sells 5 one-off in-app purchases and Scouted sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Scouted holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Ultraviolet Chat has 712 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Ultraviolet Chat's written reviews are positive against 57% of Scouted's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ultraviolet Chat ships an update every 3 weeks, Scouted every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
