# KirinVPN vs VPN Client

The clearest difference is rating: KirinVPN at 4.7 against VPN Client's 4.1. KirinVPN also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months) and device support (4 vs 2). VPN Client's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 4) and review sentiment (47% vs 25%). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. KirinVPN sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. VPN Client asks for nothing beyond the download.

KirinVPN holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 761 and 225 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 25% of KirinVPN's written reviews are positive against 47% of VPN Client's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

KirinVPN ships an update every 2 weeks, VPN Client every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
