# ResX vs PlateTale

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: PlateTale at none against ResX's 8. PlateTale also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 73%). ResX's advantage is ratings volume (609 vs 1) and chart position (#12 vs unranked). On price, update cadence, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ResX sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. PlateTale asks for nothing beyond the download.

PlateTale holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ResX has 609 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 73% of ResX's written reviews are positive against 100% of PlateTale's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
