# Merge Hooks vs Cat Train Tycoon

Merge Hooks and Cat Train Tycoon both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 50% of Cat Train Tycoon's written reviews are positive against 19% of Merge Hooks's. Merge Hooks's advantage is ratings volume (4.3K vs 177) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Merge Hooks sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Cat Train Tycoon sells 11 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for Merge Hooks against 4.8 for Cat Train Tycoon. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Merge Hooks has 4.3K ratings behind it against 177, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 19% of Merge Hooks's written reviews are positive against 50% of Cat Train Tycoon's.

Merge Hooks ships an update weekly, Cat Train Tycoon every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
