# Lens Scanner vs AI Language Translator +

The clearest difference is monetization model: Lens Scanner at free with in-app purchases against AI Language Translator +'s subscription. Lens Scanner also leads on rating (4.9 vs 4.5). AI Language Translator +'s advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Lens Scanner sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and AI Language Translator + sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Lens Scanner holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AI Language Translator + has 336 ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Lens Scanner ships an update every 2 months, AI Language Translator + every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
