# Gen vs PAN!

The clearest difference is ads: PAN! at none against Gen's shown. PAN! also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 3 months). Gen's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 18.2). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Gen sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and PAN! sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Gen ships an update every 3 months, PAN! every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 29, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
