# Elsewhere Dream Journal vs DreamNotes

The clearest difference is rating: Elsewhere Dream Journal at 4.9 against DreamNotes's 3.3. Elsewhere Dream Journal also leads on ratings volume (107 vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0.0 vs 18.0). DreamNotes's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 86%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Elsewhere Dream Journal sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and DreamNotes sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Elsewhere Dream Journal holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Elsewhere Dream Journal has 107 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Elsewhere Dream Journal's written reviews are positive against 100% of DreamNotes's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Elsewhere Dream Journal ships an update every 2 weeks, DreamNotes every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
