# NimbusWx vs The Wildfire Tracker

The clearest difference is rating: The Wildfire Tracker at 4.5 against NimbusWx's 1.5. The Wildfire Tracker also leads on ratings volume (173 vs 2) and chart position (#25 vs unranked). NimbusWx's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. NimbusWx sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $1.99 per month and The Wildfire Tracker sells 15 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

The Wildfire Tracker holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 1.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Wildfire Tracker has 173 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 33% of NimbusWx's written reviews are positive against 42% of The Wildfire Tracker's.

NimbusWx ships an update every 5 days, The Wildfire Tracker fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 12, 2026.
