# My Interval Timer vs EssAI Pro

The clearest difference is monetization model: My Interval Timer at free with in-app purchases against EssAI Pro's subscription. My Interval Timer also leads on ratings volume (51 vs 1). EssAI Pro's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 8 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. My Interval Timer sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and EssAI Pro sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

EssAI Pro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My Interval Timer has 51 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

My Interval Timer ships an update every 8 months, EssAI Pro monthly. The most recent releases landed on September 23, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
