# Secret Diary vs Écrin

The clearest difference is ads: Secret Diary at none against Écrin's shown. Secret Diary also leads on device support (4 vs 2) and iOS requirement (15 vs 17.0). Écrin's advantage is update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 months). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Secret Diary sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Écrin sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Secret Diary ships an update every 3 months, Écrin every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
