# Somble vs Step Labs

The clearest difference is rating: Step Labs at 4.7 against Somble's 4.2. Somble's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (37 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Step Labs holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Somble has 37 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Somble ships an update every 2 weeks, Step Labs every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
