# Sonic Mania Plus vs Sonic Prime Dash

The clearest difference is monetization model: Sonic Prime Dash at free against Sonic Mania Plus's free with in-app purchases. Sonic Prime Dash also leads on review sentiment (86% vs 74%). Sonic Mania Plus's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Sonic Mania Plus sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per month and Sonic Prime Dash sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Sonic Mania Plus holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 28K and 60K respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 74% of Sonic Mania Plus's written reviews are positive against 86% of Sonic Prime Dash's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Sonic Mania Plus ships an update every 3 weeks, Sonic Prime Dash monthly. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
