# Metal + vs BrainDump

The clearest difference is update cadence: BrainDump at every 2 months against Metal +'s every 4 months. Metal +'s advantage is iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Metal + sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and BrainDump sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Metal + ships an update every 4 months, BrainDump every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
