# CDL Prep vs Contractors Test

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Contractors Test at none against CDL Prep's 5. Contractors Test also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). CDL Prep's advantage is ratings volume (3.2K vs 2) and review sentiment (80% vs 67%). On price, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CDL Prep sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per month. Contractors Test asks for nothing beyond the download.

Contractors Test holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: CDL Prep has 3.2K ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of CDL Prep's written reviews are positive against 67% of Contractors Test's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

CDL Prep ships an update every 3 months, Contractors Test monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
