# IELTS Prep vs IELTS MySpeaking

The clearest difference is rating: IELTS MySpeaking at 5.0 against IELTS Prep's 4.6. IELTS Prep's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (34 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. IELTS Prep sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month and IELTS MySpeaking sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

IELTS MySpeaking holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: IELTS Prep has 34 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

IELTS Prep ships an update weekly, IELTS MySpeaking every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
