# Novel Master vs First Scroll

The clearest difference is rating: First Scroll at 4.5 against Novel Master's 3.8. First Scroll also leads on ads (none vs shown). Novel Master's advantage is ratings volume (2.6K vs 18) and chart position (#101 vs unranked). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Novel Master sells 22 in-app purchases, starting at $12.99 per 7 days and First Scroll sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

First Scroll holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Novel Master has 2.6K ratings behind it against 18, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Novel Master's written reviews are positive against 60% of First Scroll's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Novel Master ships an update weekly, First Scroll every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 12, 2026 respectively.
