# Journal vs Quick Journal

The clearest difference is rating: Quick Journal at 4.7 against Journal's 4.0. Quick Journal also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 1). Journal's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs every 9 days) and review sentiment (100% vs 86%). On price, ratings volume, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Journal sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Quick Journal asks for nothing beyond the download.

Quick Journal holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 13 and 24 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Journal's written reviews are positive against 86% of Quick Journal's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Journal ships an update every 2 days, Quick Journal every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
