# OrigNotes vs NoteKit

The clearest difference is ratings volume: OrigNotes at 376 against NoteKit's 1. OrigNotes also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). NoteKit's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

NoteKit holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OrigNotes has 376 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

OrigNotes ships an update every 2 weeks, NoteKit every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
