# Temp Mail vs EmailOnDeck

The clearest difference is monetization model: EmailOnDeck at free with in-app purchases against Temp Mail's subscription. EmailOnDeck also leads on update cadence (every 5 weeks vs every 17 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 80%). Temp Mail's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (2K vs 4). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Temp Mail sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and EmailOnDeck sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Temp Mail holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Temp Mail has 2K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 80% of Temp Mail's written reviews are positive against 100% of EmailOnDeck's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Temp Mail ships an update every 17 months, EmailOnDeck every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
