# Tactik vs Text Call

The clearest difference is rating: Text Call at 4.6 against Tactik's 4.0. Text Call also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 7 months) and ratings volume (604 vs 1). Tactik's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and review sentiment (100% vs 69%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tactik sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per year and Text Call sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Text Call holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Call has 604 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Tactik's written reviews are positive against 69% of Text Call's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Tactik ships an update every 7 months, Text Call fortnightly. Both last shipped on November 3, 2026.
