# KICK vs ProTube

KICK and ProTube both sit at 4.7 stars, but that hides the real split: 74% of ProTube's written reviews are positive against 48% of KICK's. ProTube also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). KICK's advantage is chart position (#11 vs #185) and ratings volume (146K vs 16K). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. KICK sells 23 in-app purchases, starting at $6.49 per month and ProTube sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.7 for KICK against 4.8 for ProTube. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: KICK has 146K ratings behind it against 16K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 48% of KICK's written reviews are positive against 74% of ProTube's.

KICK ships an update every 3 days, ProTube weekly. Both last shipped on October 26, 2026.
