# A24 vs CineSurge

The clearest difference is rating: CineSurge at 5.0 against A24's 3.6. A24's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription) and ratings volume (204 vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. A24 sells 116 one-off in-app purchases and CineSurge sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CineSurge holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: A24 has 204 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
