# Orthodox Bible vs Theophilus

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Theophilus at none against Orthodox Bible's 14. Theophilus also leads on ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (100% vs 81%). Orthodox Bible's advantage is ratings volume (13K vs 3) and chart position (#147 vs unranked). On price, rating, update cadence and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Orthodox Bible sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per year. Theophilus asks for nothing beyond the download.

Orthodox Bible holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Orthodox Bible has 13K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 81% of Orthodox Bible's written reviews are positive against 100% of Theophilus's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Orthodox Bible ships an update every 10 days, Theophilus every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
