# Breveto vs SteelNote

The clearest difference is monetization model: SteelNote at free with in-app purchases against Breveto's subscription. SteelNote also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 65%) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Breveto sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and SteelNote sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Breveto ships an update every 6 weeks, SteelNote every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
