# Summary vs Summary AI Note Taker

The clearest difference is ads: Summary at none against Summary AI Note Taker's shown. Summary also leads on review sentiment (82% vs 50%). Summary AI Note Taker's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and iOS requirement (16.6 vs 18.0). On price, ratings volume, update cadence and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Summary sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Summary AI Note Taker sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Summary AI Note Taker holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 37 and 45 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 82% of Summary's written reviews are positive against 50% of Summary AI Note Taker's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
