# VPN vs Uplinks NOW!

The clearest difference is rating: Uplinks NOW! at 5.0 against VPN's 4.3. Uplinks NOW! also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). VPN's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 3 months) and ratings volume (58 vs 6). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VPN sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Uplinks NOW! sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Uplinks NOW! holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VPN has 58 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 42% of VPN's written reviews are positive against 56% of Uplinks NOW!'s.

VPN ships an update every 3 weeks, Uplinks NOW! every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on November 7, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
