# EssAI Pro vs Smart Camera connect

The clearest difference is monetization model: Smart Camera connect at free with in-app purchases against EssAI Pro's subscription. Smart Camera connect also leads on ratings volume (35 vs 1). EssAI Pro's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 7 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. EssAI Pro sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Smart Camera connect sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

EssAI Pro holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Smart Camera connect has 35 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

EssAI Pro ships an update monthly, Smart Camera connect every 7 months. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
