# ChatMate+ vs Pal Chat

The clearest difference is review sentiment: ChatMate+ at 100% against Pal Chat's 59%. ChatMate+ also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Pal Chat's advantage is ratings volume (435 vs 1) and rating (4.3 vs 4.0). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Pal Chat sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. ChatMate+ asks for nothing beyond the download.

Pal Chat holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pal Chat has 435 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of ChatMate+'s written reviews are positive against 59% of Pal Chat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

ChatMate+ ships an update weekly, Pal Chat every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
