# HiBirds vs Birdfy

The clearest difference is rating: Birdfy at 4.2 against HiBirds's 3.1. Birdfy also leads on update cadence (every 10 days vs every 2 months) and ratings volume (3.9K vs 61). HiBirds's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 10) and review sentiment (69% vs 49%). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Birdfy sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.39 per month. HiBirds asks for nothing beyond the download.

Birdfy holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Birdfy has 3.9K ratings behind it against 61, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 69% of HiBirds's written reviews are positive against 49% of Birdfy's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

HiBirds ships an update every 2 months, Birdfy every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 7, 2026 respectively.
