# VilaNet vs ThankVPN

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ThankVPN at none against VilaNet's 6. ThankVPN also leads on review sentiment (80% vs 67%). VilaNet's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, ads and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VilaNet sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. ThankVPN asks for nothing beyond the download.

VilaNet holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: VilaNet has 58 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of VilaNet's written reviews are positive against 80% of ThankVPN's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

VilaNet ships an update every 2 weeks, ThankVPN every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
