# Clock Pocket vs Alarm Clock

The clearest difference is monetization model: Alarm Clock at free with in-app purchases against Clock Pocket's subscription. Alarm Clock also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.1). Clock Pocket's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 weeks). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Clock Pocket sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Alarm Clock sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Alarm Clock holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.1. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 42 and 22 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 78% of Clock Pocket's written reviews are positive against 65% of Alarm Clock's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Clock Pocket ships an update fortnightly, Alarm Clock every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
