# AI vs Writex

The clearest difference is rating: AI at 5.0 against Writex's 1.0. AI also leads on ratings volume (5 vs 1). Writex's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 11 days vs every 5 months). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

AI holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AI has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

AI ships an update every 5 months, Writex every 11 days. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
