# WriteDeck vs TinkleTools

The clearest difference is price: TinkleTools at Free against WriteDeck's $0.99. TinkleTools also leads on update cadence (every 9 days vs every 2 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 88%). WriteDeck's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.5). On ratings volume, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

TinkleTools is free to download; WriteDeck costs $0.99 up front. WriteDeck sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and TinkleTools sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WriteDeck holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 2 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 88% of WriteDeck's written reviews are positive against 100% of TinkleTools's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

WriteDeck ships an update every 2 months, TinkleTools every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and November 4, 2026 respectively.
