# PhotoSolve vs Homework Helper

The clearest difference is monetization model: Homework Helper at free with in-app purchases against PhotoSolve's subscription. Homework Helper also leads on review sentiment (83% vs 72%). PhotoSolve's advantage is ratings volume (1.4K vs 118). On price, rating, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PhotoSolve sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and Homework Helper sells 8 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for PhotoSolve against 4.3 for Homework Helper. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PhotoSolve has 1.4K ratings behind it against 118, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 72% of PhotoSolve's written reviews are positive against 83% of Homework Helper's.

PhotoSolve ships an update monthly, Homework Helper every 2 weeks. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
