# PhotoSolve vs SmartSolve

The clearest difference is monetization model: SmartSolve at free with in-app purchases against PhotoSolve's subscription. On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PhotoSolve sells 14 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days and SmartSolve sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.4 for PhotoSolve against 4.6 for SmartSolve. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1.4K and 3.6K respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 72% of PhotoSolve's written reviews are positive against 66% of SmartSolve's.

PhotoSolve ships an update monthly, SmartSolve fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
