# MapGenie vs SRAssist

The clearest difference is rating: MapGenie at 4.6 against SRAssist's 2.5. MapGenie also leads on ratings volume (1.5K vs 11). SRAssist's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 2 months). On price, review sentiment, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MapGenie sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and SRAssist sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MapGenie holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 2.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MapGenie has 1.5K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 34% of MapGenie's written reviews are positive against 29% of SRAssist's.

MapGenie ships an update every 2 months, SRAssist every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 21, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
