# Upspace vs Beardly

The clearest difference is update cadence: Upspace at fortnightly against Beardly's every 4 months. Upspace also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (130 vs 11). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Upspace sells 20 in-app purchases, starting at $6.49 per month and Beardly sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Upspace holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Upspace has 130 ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 71% of Upspace's written reviews are positive against 75% of Beardly's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Upspace ships an update fortnightly, Beardly every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
