# Speed Test vs Secure Proxy

Speed Test and Secure Proxy both sit at 4.3 stars, but that hides the real split: 93% of Secure Proxy's written reviews are positive against 50% of Speed Test's. Secure Proxy also leads on ratings volume (208 vs 6) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Speed Test's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, rating, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Secure Proxy holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Secure Proxy has 208 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 50% of Speed Test's written reviews are positive against 93% of Secure Proxy's.

Speed Test ships an update every 3 weeks, Secure Proxy weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
