# Shadow Work vs ScreenChore

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Shadow Work at 342 against ScreenChore's 1. Shadow Work also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 17.6). ScreenChore's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Shadow Work sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $24.99 per month and ScreenChore sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $5.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ScreenChore holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Shadow Work has 342 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Shadow Work ships an update every 3 months, ScreenChore fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 15, 2026 respectively.
